The handmade oil bottle is in certified lead and cadmium free ceramics – hence useable for storing food ware. It contains approximately 0,8 liter and is 30 cm in height. Circumference is 27 cm, and it weighs app. 740 gr. The bottom is signed by the artist.

The Mezulla bottle is made with a careful focus on both aesthetics, quality, traditions and design. The bottle is decorated with illustrations, tulips and carnations in bright colors of red, blue, turquoise and green, on a classic white background. The tulip plays an important role in Turkish historic arts and craftsmanship. During the Ottoman reign the tulip was prized as gold and at the royal court, tulip bulbs were given as valuable gifts to important connections. Both the tulip and the carnation are still very popular in modern day Turkey and are frequently used for decoration in various artforms, ceramics and textiles.

Kütahya ceramics

The Mezulla bottle is handmade in Kütahya, an area of Turkey well known for their techniques, traditions and designs in ceramic art and craftmanship. Where the renowned Iznik workshops were closely connected to the royal court, the artisans in Kütahya mainly produced elegant and sophisticated household ceramics to the higher middle classes. Throughout the last centuries, Kütahya has developed into a major ceramic area, famous for their outstanding quality and breathtaking designs and handicraft.
